to my so called "american" friends:
do hope you had a fab thanksgiving. (as an aside, it is time to kill the moniker "turkey day" if you want my opinion. perhaps that is b/c i don't eat turkey? or maybe it is just that i am tired of cute names for things that are really some sort of corporate doublethink dream to bolster shopping & spending among the proles? *lol*)
to my (perhaps) luckier non-american friends:
thanksgiving is the american holiday which most embodies the spirit of gluttony. this is expressed generally by consuming vast amounts of turkey, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, odd concoctions involving jell-o, vegetables & cottage cheese or mayonnaise, yams with marshmallows atop them, ad nauseum.
by now, no doubt, you are wondering how does one celebrate such a holiday in the quasi-vegan quasi-nation of bear*monkey*ville? & an apt question indeed, if there ever was such a thing.
we celebrate gluttony by making fully-vegan fully unhealthy DOUGHNUTS! a tradition started this year but will doubtless continue well into the depths of future posterity. & here they are:
